a mail from the other side of the world

came to me this mercredi! It's from Belarus, from a postcrosser named Lena. She is so nice and pretty. So here is why she sent me a mail (for those who have read my last post, I've talked about this but for those who haven't, here it is) ....

So there is a postcard that becomes a favorite of some postcrossers, shows a tribal statue from Irian Jaya (or Papua), Indonesia. It's actually a mummy of a 'war God' in Papua, and for some who adore the tribal life, it's gonna look very beautiful and adorable. This is what that card looks like:

well, it's not very 'pretty and adorable' for me
But then, a woman named Lena says that she would like this card in her collection. So I said 'I could send you one' and I searched it where I bought it.. et voila! It's still sold there, in Sarinah Thamrin, 6th floor (if I'm not mistaken, well for who wants to search it, it's located on the top floor of Sarinah, in front of a cashier). And after that, she said that she'll send me something to reply my goodness :p, and she send me a mail! She was so funny, she said I should check my mailbox (I told you before, I haven't got any mailbox haha) often because she sent me a surprise! And after a lifetime waiting, haha kidding, I got that mail in my house!

Surely it takes a very long time to arrive. The postal stamp told me the sending date: 3th January 2011, yet it's arrived in my house in 9th February. Haha it takes more than a month! But what she said to me is true, it's a surprise! For me it's a very nice and special mail, because so much good thing is in that envelope. She sent me an adorable gift card, so many cute stamps, a well-made-concept photo (i believe she made it herself, she said in her postcrossing profile that she's a photographer) and two piece of paper money, 10 BYR (Belorussian Ruble) and 50 BYR. It's just amazing! I always love that kind of cadeau!

So this is how her mail looks like when it's arrived..

cute stamps, eh?

However, this one is just lovely because it really is a mail, it comes from another country and I feel glad :D Next, I'll show you how that adorable card looks like. It's amazing.

and this is the inner side! cute poppies :3

this is the outer side

Yay, it's cute and adorable, right? So much poppies (or daisies? I forgot haha) flowers in that card, and it's just awesome :D I cant explain how much I like that card. And she wrote me a letter, telling me that she's so pleased to meet someone like me in the internet *blushing* and yeah, here comes the money:

50 BYR

 10 BYR

Haha actually when I checked the currency converter about the amount of this sum,I don't understand what could the Belorussian people buy with this piece. And the last one is the photo she gave me. I belive this is a piece of her artworks, check it out:

she wrote nothing on it, but sure it looks tasty and refreshing!

After all, thank you very much Lena, I really appreciate this mail! Truly, I really like it because there are just so many surprise you gave to me, and I like it! I'm so grateful too finding a friend like you. Thank you very much, postcrossing!

oh what did i found in my mailbox?

That can't be true, I don't have any mailbox at all! The postcards keep coming to my house (usually found it on grandma's working table) banded with a single rubber band.. And I'm a bit curious, did the post office keeps stocking my mail until it reach some amounts and after it reach that amount it's delivered to my house? I mean, I never got just a single postcard.. It's been two, four, five postcards, yet it takes very long time (28-36 days) to reach my house! Oh la la, I don't know who's to blame, and I don't know why should I blame someone because all that I care about is the happiness I feel everytime I got my mail! And this time... I got 5 postcards! Let's... take.. a... look.

Snowy bell all the way! I always love snow. It goes along well with my favorite month of the year, december. That postcard shows St. Isaac's cathedral, covered in snow. The photo is so great and I could let my imagination flew there... for a while.

By the writing's that written there, you should've known what that is, right? Yea it's the Big Ben in London, yet it hasn't come from London, ay! It came from Monica in Portugal. She read that I adore London and the UK very much so she decided to send me this one. Though it was kinda classic, the card, but I really appreciate that she read my card preferences and decided to give me this 'veeery british card' and I favorited this! :D Besides, she also wrote me some sentences in Portuguese and translated it into English, because she read too that I love to learn some basic words from a foreign language. What a nice person she is! I have never got any cards talking about my addiction to the UK and she is the first one, ever!

And I don't know who's that two girls are. First I thought (my grandma thought of that too) that it's the picture of the sender. Oh ok so they're twins, and.. sending a photo to me. That doesn't make any sense. And I read the back of the card and.. I found out that it's a true postcard, titled "A welcoming land, Nanjhuang Miaoli". I was like, "where's the land?" And she/he who sent me this just said "Greetings from Taiwan, wish you like the postcard chooes for you." and added some kanji writings. So I'm totally clueless about this one and yes, I hope I'd like it too :)

This one is from a happy couple living in USA. They had married 49 years, and I hope they could celebrate their platinum anniversary (the 50th of their marriage) in a very well condition! They are just so adorable, using the pronoun "we" instead of "I" to write their sentences. This shows a "flutterby" named Tiger Swallowtail from Virginia's state. I'm not a big fan of butterfly, but I do love watching the real one.

And the last one is from Chile! Can you imagine that, Chile! Acually this one is totally unique to me. First, it shows the penguins, the Gentoo penguins live in the southern Chile. For me, penguins are just like the cutest living thing in the world, after Orlando Bloom and the other things that I declared "cutest living things in the world" lol. Second, the template itself is adorable. The background of the back of the card (yeah I know you're that smart, I know you understand what I mean haha!) is the flag of the Chilean Republic, and in the upper part printed un sabor de chile: a flavour from chile. Yap, a recipe! Adorable, right?

And.. you must've known that in the back of a postcard, there stood a line to border the "address section" and the "writings section". And you know what.. the border is the Chilean Map! Yeah, Chile Map used as a line because of its straight shape, that idea was just so cool! Look at the pic!

Chilean Map

Ok so the sender looks quite cool haha. He's a guy named Pablo and I learned from his profile in Postcrossing.com that he loves The Beatles. Kinda.. similar to me :p And well he wrote to me in two languages, one paragraph in Spanish and one is the translation, in English. That was just awesome. I would like to send him a reply but I guess he didnt need it: he didn't reply my message til' now :'( So I guess that's where it should ends (what the..). Yay, this is where this posting should ends. Next I'll post about a mail from my friend Lena in Belarus and the next group of postcards that I received just yesterday. Happy postcrossing!

so here is the next thing I bought

Another Indonesian cards, actually. Lots of them are the Indonesians, because that's what the postcrossers love. They really wants to know what my city looks like, what kind of art I have here, so.. I chose for them those tourism series!

Some of them have been sent to some countries :) You see one of it, with bamboo music instruments (from Sulawesi)? I ever bought that one and sent it to a friend in Germany. Results: Me and her becomes friends until now! We often send e-mails just to tell how was our days, and what we do.. Oh how I adore how postcrossing could make me a friend of a complete stranger :D And here is the postcard I bought from a very longtime ago but I haven't upload due to.. my willing ;)

Actually I love this kind of postcard. It gives me space to write: it's a little bigger than the Indonesian series, but the material isn't as good as the Indonesian and it cost more! I also buy it in Sarinah Thamrin.. And.. I'm not buying too much of this kind :)

This one is a small postcard. It looks like an old postcard, it has the sephia tone on the back of the card, and this one shows you an Aceh Fan. Kipas aceh, in Indonesia. Yep, not my favorite, and.. it's been sent to someone in Taiwan.. :)

And these two shows you the pattern of a cloth here in Indonesia. If I'm not mistaken, those are from Bali.I forgot which one have I sent, but sure this is a good one. The dimension is small. Compared to the Indonesian series, it's just 3/4 parts of it, but it's wrapped in plastic, looks expensive and costs 4000 rupiahs. I'm.. not gonna buy it anymore, I guess :D

And I'm gonna show you the thing that postcrossers love the most: A so-called tribal postscard:

Ok so here is the story. First I sent it to a guy named Awi in Taiwan (you could see his reply card to me in this posting). He said that he likes something related to a tribal condition so I sent him this. And he like it so much, he even wrote me a reply card just to tell me thanks! Then, some postcrossers favorited this card, even one woman from Belarus named Lena. She wrote, "Beautiful! I would like this card as my collection".

Well, I don't consider this one as beautiful, actually.. But then, I replied "Really? I could send you one if you'd like to." And I messaged her, asking her address. And you know what, she told me she's gonna send me a mail, to reply my "goodness" LOL. She's so nice, so I search this postcard in Sarinah (actually not me, I told my boyfriend to bought me this one) and found it! So.. I sent it and the postcard came to her first. I received the reply today, it's just awesome what's inside that envelope, and I'm gonna write about in on a post about her mail!

So that's all for today... Buenos noches, chicos!
