another postcrossing cards

Hello! Last March I got so much cards but haven't got time to post it.. and now is the time! So these are 5 cards I got from postcrossing. Let's take a look!

This card is from Pam in USA. She said that the postcard is full of Texas' state flower, bluebonnets. The flowers are so cute and bloomy. It looks like bluberries from a far distance :) She also said that she likes hamburger, fries, chocolate.. soo American :D She sent it with cute stamps, one stamp is cute orange (lunar new year edition) and one is american clock, and the other one is calvin and hobbes stamp! cute :)

I call this one a giant postcard. Because it's really big! I could even use it as a fan hahaha. This one is from Sky in Hongkong, from #1 sender in Hongkong and it seems like a free card. But I don't care, because it got a nice view! Well, in the card he said 'Hello, this is postcard from Hongkong. City that never sleep. Wish you like this card! Sky'. Yes Sky, I like the blue tone :)

This one card is from Denise in Germany. On that card there are 6 images of historical monuments or building in Potsdam, Germany. I myself know Potsdam from some historical events in European Union's foundation. She said on her card that Potsdam becomes a city on UNESCO list, which means that city considered having an universal value. She asked for a reply card, and I replied :)

These three cards (Warsaw, Leeds and Dusseldorf) are my favorites from this post. I like that multiple-view card from Poland, because of the beautiful blue sky on every pics, and the pics are soo beautiful and exciting. The funny thing is, this girl (her name is Wiktorie) that sent me this is the same girl that I'd almost requested for doing swap! It wouldn't be funny if I already ask her for swap yet she had sent a card to me, right? Haha

On the right side there is a British card! First one I got from postcrossing! (That favorite one from Edinburgh is from swap, so it's not counted haha). Actually I don't really like the pic, but since I'm an UK enthusiast, anything from UK should be appreciated properly! :)

And this one is a very beautiful view from Airport Dusseldorf in Germany. I really like it cause it has airplanes pic! My boyfriend is an airplane-airline-airport freak, and I'd like to share some postcrossing happiness to him, and that's why I put 'airplane' in one of my postcard preferences in my postcrossing profile. And when I finally got it, I gave it to him and he was more than happy. Thanks, Klaus!

swap swap

I'm starting doing swap! For those who doesn't know how to do swap in postcrossing, just follow these simple instructions :)

1. have you already registered as a member who wants to do swap? if you dont know how to set your profile into that criteria, simply click on 'edit profile'   --->

2. Take a look belooow that page and try to find a similar form as this one in the right side. check on that box i marked, and click save changes. And voila! You had become a member who wants to do swaps :)

3. Now it's your time to search for one you want to swap with! On the top of the page, you'll see an options like that pic on the right side, and click on search users! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

<<<<<<<<<<<<
4. confused? you shouldn't.. for searching users who are interested in doing swaps, you just have to check the box 'interested in direct swaps only' and pick the countries you like! for eliminating inactive users for showing up in the result, I usually pick 'logged in within last day'. try it!

enough with the tutorials, now I'm gonna show my lovely cards that I got from the swaps! told you in some post before that I had swapped with a guy from China, now it's from France, Finland and... tada.. UK!!!!! Wahhh I'm so happy receiving those cards! Take a look! :D

this one is from Finland! It's from a lady in Finland named Virpi. She ever live in Indonesia and she could speak Indonesian. We agreed to do swaps, but she sent me a card and I sent her a giant envelope.. So later she replied a very beautiful mail, I'll post that here :) She said on this card that views in Finland are basically like that. I really envy her :( Finland is a really beautiful country, I wish I'll be there someday :)

Voila c'est la rochelle! I really really like this card. I (also) really love to continue my studies there, but after some deeper thoughts, I think it's impossible. But before I stopped that dream, I studied some about La Rochelle! It's a very beautiful region in France, near the beautiful bay Biscay. And I was really happy to receive such card :)

and this one is Monet's painting. a friend of mine screamed when she saw this. she really loves paintings, while I was like 'oh.. painting.. yeah..' poor friend. The sender's name is Elisabeth, she's from France and she got this card when she was going into an exhibition. All French cards I got are written in french and I'm so happy  receiving them all :)

Tadaaaaaaaaaaaa!
my favorite ever! I really like a card that looks like that, blue in background, castles, and the most important thing: It's from UK! waaaa I'm the biggest UK fan ever soo this one is really on the top of my favorite card list. Thanks to Jenny who sent this on her trip!

Moral story of direct swap is: you could specify what do you want and you could really get things that you like, because it's you who choose the country! Seriously you could do much in direct swap, so, why hesitate? :D

second mail from Belorussian friend :)

Second? Yes, you could see my post about her first mail here. Regarding her first mail, I was soo happy! She also said that she would like to know more about Indonesian culture. I decided to sent her a very nice package, including cards of Indonesia's traditional clothes with complete explanation, a Bali keychain, and a piece of Indonesian newspaper. She really loves it! And she replied these cute cards for me... I'm really glad receiving these cards :D

bunny? dog?

the inner part of the bunny card :D

In that cute bunny card, I really regret that I had an accident on which I spilled water in a long period of time. That water faded the ink on the envelope and it went through that card and leave a purple stain on the upper right of the card. It's a really cute card, I really like it and that really makes me sad :( I promised next time won't let that happen again boohoo :(

then I found this petite carte too! it's so small but lovely, i love penguins, they're simply adorable :3

waaah this one is awesome! I like it like it like itttt ;)

The best part of greeting cards she sent me is that all writings on card are all Belorussian! I was wondering if Indonesia has such cards in bahasa Indonesia.. And the other thing I like from her mails is that her stamps are always the cutest stamps everrr! Let's check this mail's stamps:

cuteeey :D

belorussian mail are just too cute!

adorable indonesian cards

I found these beautiful cards in Times bookstore, near my ex-office. Those are some soo well-photographed well-printed cards showing beautiful things in Indonesia. The only sad part is.. it's all printed in Singapore. Well, sadly it could proves that Indonesian printers are not that good in printing beautiful cards :(

Well, take a look at those! Aren't they lovelyyy?

   wayang golek                                uluwatu temple, bali

beautiful boats on madura island             beautiful sunset on togians island

mount api, banda island, indonesia           indonesian beauty, lake kelimutu

borobudur                    gamelan music, traditional music instrument

national monument, jakarta                     lake kintamani, indonesia

And I think I've sent all of those times postcard to the rest of the world! Haha I was never meant to make this blog a database of all my postcards, because actually I can't save anything properly in order, which means I can't make a database! Hahaha. The thing I don't really like of this times postcard is: it's too small! Well it is small but the place for putting stamps is also small.. Sometimes the stamps covered the address part. Wahh it really stressed me out hahaha.

Well, Indonesia is a very beautiful country, isn't it? We have soo much beautiful landscapes, unique cultural ways of life which could makes great view on postcards. But unfortunately Indonesians aren't that interested in philately, which makes Indonesian cards aren't so creative and boring. In my case, I always search for the greatest cards I saw in the store. Sometimes I really wish I could make my own postcard, so there will be no need to go to Jakarta, buying cards, etc. Here are those other postcard that I found interesting, and almost all of them are around the world right now! :)

the yellow one is a sunset in Manado bay, and the blue is the Sunda Kelapa harbour. seas in Indonesia are amaziing :D

sent those two to people asking for traditional costumes. the left one is bali's traditional costume and the right is an old lady from Dayak tribe.

left: wayang golek or golek puppet, a traditional puppet played in a puppet show.
right: semeru volcano, highest mountain in Java island

favorite view from Bali :)

left: people from Yali tribe, wearing traditional clothes to a traditional ceremony
right: cool architecture of toraja house!

left: jakarta's nightview. what an 'adorable' city haha
right: an eye-sooting view of paddy field in west java, Indonesia

and lately, got this card from a friend. gave it to postcrossers who wants a vintage card :)

See? Indonesia is adorable. But so many people don't appreciate its beauty, or worse, creating bad labels on it. Terrorism, hatred, poverty, bah. I hope more could just enjoy what God have given them and keep doing good things, such as postcrossing (haha). I really enjoy sending these cards :) And how about you? How many Indonesian goodness have you sent lately? Or foreigners, do you enjoy Indonesian beauty? :)

oh what happened?

(This post should be posted in the beginning of March, which means that it's not my current situation :D enjoy.)

It seems that the number of my receiving postcards decreased :( I thought I sent too much but I got so few in return. And my destinations havent got their cards too.. Oooh, let me tell you that disappointing amount of cards: 3! Plus one from the direct swap.. Well anyway, I'll let you take a look at those :D

This one is from Russia, though the card itself is from Berlin. Many of my friends said that it's cool, but personally, red isn't my fave color and I prefer a multiple-ordinary landscape-view postcard rather than animated one, but it's allright! And yes.. I really hope she'll send something from her own country, but still.. everything's just ok with me, as long as you send what you should've send :D

This one is from Portland, Oregon, but the writer is Indonesian! Her parents comes from Indonesia, but I think she lives in the US since her childhood, because she didn't speak any Indonesian in that card. Well I think she is very lucky.. Most of Indonesians want to go to studying in foreign countries, and she is studying there. Well, everybody has their own luck, isn't it? :)

And this one from Netherlands is sent in an envelope! First I thought that the sender is a new member, cause she takes care of every postcard she sent + adding some things to that card. In my case, she send a piece of Netherlands' newspaper. She write, "I include a newspaper front, perhaps you like to see how our exotic Dutch news looks like." And I was soooo happy to receive my first foreign newspaper! And there's a surprise about it.. But first, just take a look at the card and the piece of newspaper she sent :D

this is the card

+cute stamps!

and this is the newspaper piece
That's just plain cool :D and talking about the surprise... the sender has already sent thousands of cards! Which means she's not a newbie, yet she 'treated' me that well! Wow.. what a nice postcrosser, danke Thea :)

And the card I got from swap is this one:

his hometown
I think this is my first card from direct swap. His name is Wu Jian Ming from China, he sent me a request and asked if I have a nice card+stamps for his son. I replied to him that I'm interested, but since I'm not a stamp collector, I'll just send him a stamp I found in the post office and I asked for his 'agreeement' about that. And he wasn't replying anything... And that card comes to me. LOL I was kinda "What is this frooom.. No postcard ID :'(" Few minutes afterward I realized that it's from him haha. And I replied it.. Hmm.. next time, if you wanna do a swap with me, just be clear on your wishes cause I want all my mail to be the best they could be ;)

That's all for the beginning of March.. next I'll post about the cards I bought a month ago. Some are already flew to another country, few still rest here amongst my collection. So.. wait for it! :)
